Upon entering the forum turbine hall building, known as the Southern Boiler House, you are left in awe of the expanse of the once operational 1930's Power Station. Inside awaits a journey of its own. The RMB Turbine Art Fair is a unique South African arts festival that brings together galleries and artists from around the country to present and sell works at this iconic building in Newtown, Johannesburg.

1.  VIP OPENING NIGHT

The journey of the RMB Turbine Art Fair’s Opening Night is truly one of a kind. Upon arrival  you will be welcomed with a glass of champagne.  The VIP opening night on Thursday, 12th July gives you first access to the fair and most importantly the works of art.

3. Special projects

RMB Turbine Art Fair will present a series of  Special Projects for visitors to view during the 2018 Fair.  The Projects include an interactive Talks Programme sponsored by RMB Private Bank and art installations curated by Tamzin Lovell Miller. She brings a new vision to the Fair, specifically asking the question: “Who are we after this "Post-Truth” time has shaped us?"

The Graduate Show HOME/LAND featuring some of the best post-graduate paintings and the inclusion of photography from art departments across South Africa., curated by Musa N. Nxumalo.

 

 

This year at RMB Turbine Art Fair, in an exhibition featuring a selection of Irma Stern Still lifes from private collections titled Is there Still Life?  Strauss & Co expands on the notion of the ideal collector and what he/she can achieve in a lifetime of collecting.  Not only is Irma Stern the bestselling artist on the secondary market, but her still lifes serve as inspiration for a group of young contemporary artists as well.
